Job summary

Health New Zealand |Te Whatu Ora Lakes is seeking a Part-time Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Fracture Clinic at Rotorua Hospital. You will lead fracture liaison care for patients over 50, coordinating with MDT teams across primary and tertiary services.

The role requires NZ nursing registration, a postgraduate qualification (Masters preferred) and a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, plus Te Tiriti o Waitangi experience.

Qualifications

• Nursing registration and current practising certificate (NZ Nursing Council)
• Postgraduate qualification (Masters) or working towards
• Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience in primary and/or tertiary settings
• Experience implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
• Current NZ Driving Licence
• Expert knowledge of fragility fracture pathophysiology, management and treatment

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and coordinate ongoing care for patients aged 50+ with fragility fractures.
• Provide specialist nursing care and guidance to MDT across primary and tertiary settings.
• Utilise advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning for appropriate investigations and management.
• Lead high-level data collection for NZ Fragility Fracture Registry and reporting for quality improvement.
