Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand in Christchurch invites applications for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Orthopaedic Planned Care. 36 hours per week (0.9 FTE) fixed-term to November 2027, with emphasis on leadership, improvement of planned care performance, and advancing patient pathways.

The role requires NZ Registered Nurse with APC, postgraduate qualification (or in progress), and strong skills in collaboration, data interpretation, and stakeholder engagement to support Long Wait Patients

Qualifications

NZ Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate.
Postgraduate qualification or working towards it.
Proven leadership and ability to engage diverse teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to oversee clinical journeys.

Responsabilités

Promote and embed improvement in planned care performance throughout Health NZ and the Orthopaedic Planned Care team.
Prioritise wait lists with equity lens to meet longest wait, greatest need targets.
Work with Orthopaedic and supporting teams to improve performance and optimise capacity.
Oversee outsourced care arrangements with private hospitals and health specialties.
Respond to constraints in planned care patient flow and minimise day-of-surgery cancellations.
Provide patient-level oversight and enable the clinical journey for Long Wait Patients.
