Job summary

Four Square Otaika in Whangarei is recruiting a Fresh Foods Assistant for the Deli to support a new sushi offering. This part-time role includes weekend work, with early starts around 5:30am and a minimum of 12 hours per week, 2–5 days.

You’ll prep fresh foods and help cook chicken and chips. Join our growing team to bake items, assemble meals, and maintain a high standard of presentation in the serve-over area.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience is essential.
• Comfortable with some heavy lifting.
• Eager to learn and follow food safety protocols.
• Able to work efficiently in a high-energy setting.

Responsibilities

• Make sushi fresh daily.
• Cook chickens, prepare sandwiches, pizzas, chicken and chips and heat-and-eat meals.
• Maintain high standards of presentation in the serve-over area.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment.

Four Square Otaikais looking for someone who can work across our Service Deli to join our team so we can launch into an exciting new offering - sushi!

About the role:

Are you passionate about food and providing excellent customer service? Four Square Otaika is seeking a dynamic Fresh Foods Assistant to join our growing fast-paced Deli department. This is a part-time position and will be predominately in the kitchen and helping us prepare fresh food and cook chicken and chips! Must be able to work at least one day in the weekends. This is a part time position. Start time would be 5.30am. This position is part time and would be for 2 - 5 days a week depending on the applicant(s) Total hours available start from 12hrs per week

• Skillfully bake various baking items, previous baking experience ideal
• Cook chickens, prepare sandwiches, pizzas, chicken and chips and ‘heat and eat’ meals etc.
• Maintain high standards of presentation in the serve-over area.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Adhere strictly to food safety procedures to ensure the sale of safe food.
