Job summary

A community-focused organization is seeking a part-time Foster Parent Recruiter to work in Marlborough for 10 hours each week. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, marketing knowledge, and a full New Zealand driver's license. Flexibility for working evenings and weekends is essential. The role supports the mission to provide secure, loving families for children in need.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills to engage with potential foster parents.
  • Relevant marketing experience or certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively individually and in teams.
  • Proficient in developing and executing project plans.
  • Willingness to adjust working hours for weekend or evening commitments.
  • Cultural sensitivity regarding Māori and Tauiwi relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and assess potential foster parents for Open Home Foundation.
  • Foster community relationships to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Conduct presentations and information sessions about foster care.

About Open Home Foundation

The Open Home Foundation (OHF) is a Christian Community Response and has a vision that every child and young person has the opportunity to grow up in a secure, loving family and receive a depth of care which will bless them throughout their lives.

The Open Home Foundation is seeking a part-time Foster Parent Recruiter. This position is 10 hours per week and will cover Marlborough.

Responsibilities and qualifications
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Marketing knowledge and skills and/or a relevant qualification
  • The ability to work alone and also as part of a team
  • The ability to develop and outwork project plans
  • To work weekends & evenings as required
  • An in-depth understanding of how the role recognizes the special relationship between Māori and Tauiwi and has a strong empathy with the organization’s special character
  • A full New Zealand driver's license is essential
  • An alignment with the Open Home Foundation’s Christian Kaupapa
