Job summary

Napier Port in Napier, New Zealand, is seeking Forklift Drivers to join our Warehousing team. You will operate forklifts and other materials-handling equipment, load and unload cargo, and help ensure smooth truck movements while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Candidates should hold a full Class 1 licence with F endorsement, a current OSH certificate, and be available for day and afternoon shifts, including public holidays and some weekends. Eligibility to work in NZ is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating forklifts and other materials‑handling equipment within the port and warehousing environment.
• Loading, unloading, stacking, and movement of cargo and palletised freight.
• Supporting truck operations to ensure efficient cargo flow.
• Completing pre‑start checks and basic equipment care, reporting faults promptly.
• Recording movements and completing required documentation and system entries.
• Working with logistics and warehousing teams to meet deadlines.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.

Napier Port, located in Napier, Hawke’s Bay, is New Zealand’s fourth-largest port, providing a range of marine, handling, and logistical services. Our Warehousing Operations Team plays a vital role in maintaining operational excellence.

Multiple opportunities - We have an opportunity for Forklift Drivers to join the Warehousing team.

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor Warehousing, day-to-day, you’ll be busy working on:

• Safely operating forklifts and other materials‑handling equipment within the port and warehousing environment
• Loading, unloading, stacking, and movement of cargo, and palletised freight
• Supporting truck operations to ensure efficient cargo flow
• Completing pre‑start checks and basic equipment care, reporting faults promptly
• Accurately recording movements and completing required documentation and system entries
• Working collaboratively with, logistics, and warehousing teams to meet operational deadlines
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping at all times.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A great attitude
• A full Class 1 drivers’ licence with F endorsement
• Current OSH certificate
• A class 5 driver licence would be advantageous
• The ability to work day and afternoon shifts (07:00-15:30, and 15:30-24:00), including public holidays and some weekends.
