Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Haematology Flow Cytometry team at LabPlus, Auckland City Hospital. The role involves testing and interpreting flow cytometry results for MRD, leukemia and lymphoma immunophenotyping.

You will work under scientific leaders in a busy environment, participate in on‑call duties, and contribute to high‑quality results and patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical flow cytometry laboratory service.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented with strong organisational skills.
• Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and set up flow cytometry assays.
• Provisional or full registration with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ.

Responsibilities

• Join the Haematology Flow Cytometry team and work under supervision ofScientific Leaders.
• Perform and interpret flow cytometry tests for MRD, leukaemia and lymphoma immunophenotyping.
• Participate in an on‑call roster covering transplantation and immunophenotyping areas.
• Contribute to maintaining quality, accuracy and timely reporting in a busy lab.
