Job summary

Lancashire Independent Living services in the Nelson area seeks two Personal Assistants to cover holiday and sickness for a 28-year-old non-verbal male. The role focuses on community access, meaningful activities, and supportive transport using a mobility car. A full clean licence and DBS check are required.

This part-time position pays £12.71 per hour plus 5.6 weeks’ annual leave and a workplace pension. Experience with autism/ADHD is helpful, and you will motivate him to participate in

Responsibilities

• Driving the client in his mobility vehicle to local destinations.
• Supporting trips to parks, cafés, shops, or to purchase food.
• Encouraging participation in short walks and community activities.
• Providing gentle, patient encouragement when the client becomes reluctant to move on or engage in an activity.
• Suggesting alternative activities that are enjoyable and suitable for individuals with autism and ADHD.
• Supporting the client to build confidence and enjoy positive experiences within the community.
