Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience is essential.
• NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional approach.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and committed to food safety, hygiene, and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, portion, plate, and serve quality meals and menu items
• Prepare ingredients including vegetables, dairy products, meat, seafood, and poultry
• Follow menus while meeting customers' dietary and cultural requirements
• Receive, store, rotate, and maintain kitchen supplies and assist with stock control
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe kitchen environment
• Follow food safety, infection control, portion control, and waste reduction procedures
