Job summary

John Jones Steel is a leading structural steel fabricator in New Zealand seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to support our fleet of equipment and vehicles across sites in the South Island. The role involves servicing and repairing light to heavy equipment, diagnosing faults, and performing maintenance on site.

Ideal candidates will have hydraulic experience, a full NZ Class 5 driver licence (W endorsement preferred), and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Hydraulic systems familiarity and troubleshooting.
• Full clean driver licence (NZ) up to Class 5.
• W endorsement preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair of a wide range of equipment (light to heavy).
• Fault finding and diagnosis on fleet assets.
• Handle site breakdowns and carry out maintenance work as required.

Due to an ever increasing workload we are now looking for another Fleet Maintenance Technician to assist with our fleet of equipment/vehicles and plant

What we are looking for is someone with experience in:

• Service and repair of a wide range of equipment (light / Heavy)
• Fault finding and diagnosis
• Site breakdowns and maintenance work as required
• Pre COF / WOF inspections
• Taking vehicles to testing station for compliance inspection
• Overseeing apprentices (when required)

Ideally you will have the following:

• Hydraulic experience
• Full clean drivers licence (NZ) up to class 5
• W endorsement preferred but not essential
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
• The ability to attend to work out of town when required (South Island)
• Exceptional health and safety practices and lifting methodologies
• Current Site Safe certificate (advantage but not essential)
