Job summary

The Ministry for Primary Industries seeks a proactive Fleet Manager to reimagine and modernise our fleet, leveraging data-driven decisions, emerging technologies and AI-enabled improvements. You will lead optimisation, manage contracts, interpret GPS data, and report to executives while partnering with leaders across MPI.

You'll collaborate with suppliers, drive sustainability, and implement fleet systems, with occasional travel to MPI sites.

Qualifications

**Job title:** Fleet Manager**Role type**: Full time, fixed term to October 2027**Location**: Wellington**Salary band & range**: GSR D $102,953 to $132,401 depending on skills and experience**About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga**This role offers the opportunity to reimagine and modernise MPI's fleet management function, with a strong focus on data-driven decision making, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with leaders across the organisation to ensure our fleet is fit-for-purpose, cost-effective, sustainable, and positioned to meet future business needs. You enjoy using data and insights to influence decision-making, improve operational performance, and deliver practical business outcomes. You'll be comfortable working with senior leaders, suppliers, and operational teams while navigating governance requirements and driving continuous improvement.You'll likely be working, or have worked, in a fleet management, transport, asset management, procurement, or operational leadership environment.
