By joining our nationwide Farm Source store team, you’re joining a group of agricultural experts and setting yourself up for an outstanding career. This role is a 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover at our Rakaia store. You will be providing sound farming product advice to our loyal customers and getting involved in aspects from merchandising to customer service. You’ll also assist with entry‑level administrative tasks such as processing customer orders and invoices, updating product pricing and stock levels in our systems, maintaining tidy records, and supporting with end‑of‑day cash balancing and banking preparation. This is a fast‑paced role with opportunities to develop agricultural expertise and explore career pathways throughout the wider business.


Responsibilities


  • Provide sound farming product advice to loyal customers

  • Engage in merchandising and customer service

  • Assist with entry‑level administrative tasks: processing customer orders and invoices, updating pricing and stock levels, maintaining store records, and supporting end‑of‑day cash balancing and banking preparation

  • Support with general store operations to ensure a smooth customer experience


Qualifications / About You


  • You’re self‑motivated, adaptable, and have excellent customer service and communication skills

  • You’ll have a high level of physical fitness and be able to sustain repetitive manual handling (e.g., lifting up to 25 kg bags)

  • Ideally you’ll have prior customer service/sales experience and a connection to the agricultural industry

  • Willingness to learn about the ag/dairy industry; open to those moving from farming or existing customer experts

  • Rural experience is beneficial but not essential

  • A clean driver’s license

  • Valid forklift license, or willingness to attain one
