Orton's are a well-established catering company with over 40 years of experience in the Hawke's Bay hospitality industry. We are contracted to run the restaurant and events at Church Road Winery and are currently looking to employ a Chef to assist the Head Chef in the delivery of our food for the busy summer period. This is a fixed-term role from October 2025 to April 2025.

We are looking for someone who is welcoming, upbeat, and positive, with a focus on providing an exceptional guest experience and a positive working environment with their team. The ideal candidate is a results-driven person with restaurant experience who is great at working as part of a team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef to deliver food across the site.
  • Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  • Preparing and cooking food.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in restaurants/hospitality.
  • Prior Chef experience.

Particulars:

  • Job Type: Fixed Term - Full Time.
  • Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week with a maximum of 45 hours per week.
  • Restaurant open: Thursday - Monday from 11:30am - 4:30pm.
  • Additional work available through after-hours functions.
