Overview

Maintenance Fitter – Tradestaff Christchurch are looking for a reliable and experienced Maintenance Fitter to work across a range of sites throughout Canterbury. This role involves a mix of installation, maintenance, and repair work — including time on food production sites — so flexibility and attention to detail are key. If you're looking for a varied and hands-on role, this could be the perfect fit.

Location: Work will take place all around Canterbury — flexibility is a must

Start date: Immediate start available

Pay rate: $30–34 per hour (paid weekly)

Responsibilities
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and machinery
  • Diagnosing faults and performing preventative maintenance
  • Carrying out mechanical upgrades and replacements
  • Ensuring equipment meets safety and hygiene standards (especially in food facilities)
  • Completing on-site work at various locations, including some out-of-town travel
Requirements
  • Full Class 1 licence
  • 1+ years’ on-site maintenance experience
  • Ability to work in food production environments
  • Flexibility for out-of-town and varied site work
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
