Zusammenfassung

Tradestaff Wellington is seeking experienced Fire Alarm Service Technicians to join our team. You will carry out servicing, maintenance, testing, fault‑finding and installation work on fire detection and alarm systems across commercial and industrial sites.

The role covers both existing systems and new installations, with travel to Hawke's Bay, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne as needed. A minimum of 3 years' experience and a NZQF Level 4 qualification are required.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3 years of relevant Fire Alarm Service Technician experience.
• NZQF Level 4 qualification or overseas equivalent recognised by NZQA.
• Experience servicing, maintaining, testing and fault‑finding fire detection and alarm systems.
• Experience with fire alarm installation and associated equipment.
• Good knowledge of fire alarm control panels, devices and system components.
• Experience with conventional and/or addressable fire alarm systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and specifications.
• Own appropriate hand tools and reliable transport.
• A valid driver licence suitable for NZ travel between client sites.
• Two work references.
• Commitment to Health & Safety standards.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Aufgaben

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and routine testing of fire detection and alarm systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults across fire alarm systems, devices, circuits and control panels.
• Repair or replace faulty fire alarm components and associated equipment.
• Install fire alarm cabling, detectors, manual call points, sounders, visual warning devices, control panels and associated components.
• Read and interpret plans, wiring diagrams, schematics and technical specifications.
• Complete functional testing of installed and existing systems.
• Carry out fire alarm system upgrades and modifications.
• Assist with programming and commissioning of fire alarm systems where required.
• Test fire alarm interfaces with associated building systems where required.
• Maintain accurate service, testing and job documentation.
• Work alongside supervisors, clients, inspectors and other trades.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant standards, manufacturer requirements and Health & Safety procedures.
