A leading engineering consultancy in Auckland is seeking a Financial Control Lead to lead a finance team and support strategic objectives. The role requires strong financial and accounting knowledge, as well as leadership skills. Candidates must be CA qualified and possess a solid foundation in financial accounting. Financial Control Lead
Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to foster growth and development. Establish positive partnering relationships internally and cross-functionally across a portfolio of entities with an international lens. Support the Finance Operations Manager and wider Finance function to identify and implement long-term strategic objectives. Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and analysis and implement strong controls within a new ERP system. Provide advice to the business on complex accounting matters and support senior management with insights for strategic decision making. Collaborate with the Finance Operations Manager to identify and implement processes, policies, and systems in alignment with local legislation and best practice.
Within a global Finance operations team committed to a future-fit enterprise and amplifying value, the Financial Controls Lead will work closely with Finance leaders across the business. The individual will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Finance professionals and will serve as an integral member of a centralized finance function.
The business partnering aspects of the role will deliver financial analysis and insights to senior management for business decision-making. Establishing positive partnering relationships across Finance will strengthen opportunities to add value by asking questions, testing thinking, and sharing insights, intelligence, and ideas, always through a continuous improvement lens.
Furthermore, the Financial Controls Lead will support and maintain financial control aspects, including providing accounting advice, the preparation and delivery of financial and board reporting, and supporting external audit engagements. This multifaceted role requires a strong focus on ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and managing legislative changes effectively to support successful execution of Finance operations. The individual in this role will continually support the improvement of financial reporting for the business, contributing to the organization's strategic objectives and fostering growth within the wider industry.
CA qualified and bringing a solid foundation in financial accounting/auditing, likely from a professional services or large multi-national background, you're keen to progress your career in a business offering opportunity to prove your value, continue learning and contribute to a renewed focus on operational excellence, through accountability, consistency, efficiency and effectiveness.
