About the role

We’re looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team and take ownership of the Water’s Portfolio, providing expert financial and business advice that supports strategic decision-making and drives value for our community.

As a Financial Analyst, your primary purpose will be to deliver high-quality financial analysis and forecasting across Council revenues, expenditures, and capital projects. You’ll play a key role in identifying revenue opportunities, supporting project delivery, and ensuring compliance with funding and reporting requirements—particularly those related to three waters services and investment commencing with the transition from within Council to a water’s organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert financial and business analysis for water related projects.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting of Council revenues, operating costs, and capital expenditure.
  • Support funding applications and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Identify and evaluate revenue opportunities and financial risks.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring;

  • A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or similar.
  • Proven experience working within a business advisory role.
  • Experience in regulated utilities and an understanding of the reporting requirements is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
