Job summary

Xero in Wellington is seeking a Financial Accountant to deliver quality financial information and drive continuous improvement across our Accounting team. You’ll be a key contributor to the month-end close, supporting external disclosures and financial reporting for a listed issuer.

You’ll develop expertise across the full accounting cycle, own balance sheet reconciliations, and partner with colleagues across Finance, Tax and FP&A to automate processes and bring AI tools into routine workflows.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant or in progress to one.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience in financial reporting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support external disclosures and audit readiness for a listed issuer.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation across accounting workflows.
• Evaluate and implement AI-enabled tools to streamline manual tasks.
