Overview

Archway Recruitment is proud to be partnering with Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira to recruit a Financial Accountant on a 12-month fixed term, with the possibility of going permanent.

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Group Financial Controller and wider finance team. You’ll be responsible for statutory and monthly reporting, treasury and regulatory compliance, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities. This is a hands-on role that will also give you exposure to cashflow management, systems improvements, and audit processes—making it a strong platform for technical and commercial career growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare statutory accounts, audit working papers, and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Manage regulatory reporting requirements and tax compliance obligations
• Support treasury functions, cashflow reporting, and banking relationships
• Maintain the general ledger, fixed asset register, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Prepare performance statements and balance sheet analysis for subsidiaries
• Support external audit, anticipating and responding to auditor queries
• Contribute to financial control, system improvements, and mentoring the Accounts team

What we’re looking for

• CA/CPA qualified or in the final stages of completion
• Strong financial accounting experience (3+ years), ideally in a complex or multi-entity environment
• Background in audit (Big 4 or mid-tier) highly regarded
• Experience in treasury, financial markets, or regulatory reporting is desirable
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including PBE IPSAS/GAAP standards
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience (Microsoft Business Central advantageous)
• Excellent communication skills, able to work confidently across finance and non-finance teams
