PowerNet is seeking a capable and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Invercargill. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of accounting functions that support our network companies and the broader PowerNet Group.

In this role, you will coordinate monthly internal reporting information and assist with the preparation of external and regulatory financial information for our Group entities. You’ll oversee asset registers in collaboration with project managers, contribute to operating budgets and annual business plans, and assist with monthly financial tasks.
You’ll also support financial audits, prepare IFRS financial statements, and assist with income tax matters. From assisting with shareholder queries and contributing to special projects, your work will be varied, meaningful, and impactful.
To thrive in this role, you\'ll have a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and be either CAANZ qualified or actively working towards it. You’ll bring at least two years of experience across a broad range of accounting functions, with a solid understanding of financial reporting and compliance. Your analytical skills will be sharp, and you’ll be confident using Microsoft Excel and Word to turn data into meaningful insights.
You’ll have experience preparing monthly and annual financial statements and ideally have worked with financial material at a board level. Clear communication — both written and verbal — is one of your strengths, and you’re comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the business.

You know how to manage competing priorities and stay organised under pressure, and you bring a thoughtful, solutions-focused approach to your work.
