About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and detail-focused Financial Accountant to take ownership of the finance function within a busy, professional consultancy environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical side of financial reporting and contributing to commercial outcomes.
In this role you’ll work closely with senior leadership, providing accurate financial information that supports informed decision-making and business performance. This is a hands-on leadership position, overseeing a small finance team, while driving process improvements and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Overseeing daily financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting processes
  • Ensuring compliance with financial standards, tax requirements, and company policies
  • Providing meaningful financial insights to support business strategy
  • Working collaboratively with Directors and internal stakeholders
  • Driving continuous improvements across financial processes and systems
About you:
  • CA or CPA qualification required
  • 4 years’ post-qualification financial accounting experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of NZ and Australian financial reporting and tax legislation
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to lead and elevate team members
  • Experience working with Deltek Vantagepoint, NetSuite, or Sage preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
