Overview

This role sits within our Financial Support Services team who provide essential transactional services which enable our business and community to function smoothly. A critical role which ensures compliance with legislative and policy frameworks while mitigating risk to our organisation.

He angituutanga: The opportunity

To allow the flexibility of managing our workloads, this role encompasses a diverse range of functions across our Financial Support Services Team.

Initially you will be responsible for maintaining our banking transactions, allocating payments, dealing with internal and external payment related queries, and supporting our daily bank reconciliation process. Overtime this will extend to providing the necessary support functions associated with payables, invoicing, and receivables.

Representing the Finance Unit as a subject matter expert, you will assist our external customers and provide support to the wider business, ensuring we meet our obligations and timeframes.

  • Externally recognised qualification plus experience, or minimum of 18 months experience in an accounts-based role.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Good, generalized knowledge of business and accounting practices.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
  • Ability to operate independently, anticipate requirements and monitor workload.
  • Full, clean, and current driver license.
  • Experience working in local government (preferred, but not essential).
