A local government authority in Hamilton is seeking a Finance Support Officer to manage banking transactions, handle payment queries, and support daily reconciliations. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and at least 18 months experience in an accounts-based role. This role sits within our Financial Support Services team who provide essential transactional services which enable our business and community to function smoothly. A critical role which ensures compliance with legislative and policy frameworks while mitigating risk to our organisation.
To allow the flexibility of managing our workloads, this role encompasses a diverse range of functions across our Financial Support Services Team.
Initially you will be responsible for maintaining our banking transactions, allocating payments, dealing with internal and external payment related queries, and supporting our daily bank reconciliation process. Overtime this will extend to providing the necessary support functions associated with payables, invoicing, and receivables.
Representing the Finance Unit as a subject matter expert, you will assist our external customers and provide support to the wider business, ensuring we meet our obligations and timeframes.
