Job summary

A financial services organization in Queenstown, New Zealand, seeks a Finance Executive to manage the monthly closing process and analyze financial statements. Job description
Finance Executive

Manage the monthly closing process and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Responsible and validate AP, AR, GL and supporting schedules to meet reporting deadlines.

Ensure all accounting entries are accurate and in compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies. Responsible for ensuring adequate internal controls over company’s accounting and financial procedures.

Monitoring filing of quarterly GST and all GST related matters. Prepare and present financial reports and analysis for management meetings, supporting strategic decision-making and financial planning discussion.

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems. Support ongoing improvements in financial processes and internal controls. Assist with customer debt collection and ensure timely vendor payments.

Key support to senior management in developing plans for financial growth, including setting KPI’s, budgeting and cash flow planning. Collaborate with departments such as Business Development, Engineering, and Supply Chain to streamline budgeting and forecasting processes.

Monitor and track costs of ongoing projects. Identify discrepancies and recommend cost control measures in collaboration with Operations. Any other assignment from the Management.

Job Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or equivalent Professional Qualification (LCCI/ACCA)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience and background
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • IT savvy and good with MS office application
  • Experience in project cost accounting and cross-departmental collaboration is an advantage
  • Knowledge in Sage system is an added advantage
