Job summary

Meridian Energy Limited is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support our DigiGEN programme on a 12-month fixed-term basis. You will work closely with business and programme leaders, bringing a strong commercial lens to budgeting, forecasting and investment analysis.

You’ll be a qualified accountant with CAANZ membership and strong financial modelling, communication skills, and a collaborative approach. We offer flexible work options, competitive salary, and development opportunities.

We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner to join the Commercial Finance team and support our DigiGEN programme on a 12-month fixed-term basis.DigiGEN (Digital Generation) is our strategic change initiative, helping our Generation teams make better use of data and digital tools to improve asset availability, optimise Operations & Maintenance costs and deliver measurable, lasting value.

You’ll work closely with business and programme leaders, initiative owners and delivery teams, bringing a strong commercial lens to the programme.

You’ll play an important role in helping us:

Understand where we’re investing and the value we’re creating

Shape budgets, forecasts and investment cases

Track and report programme costs and benefits

Help teams navigate financial trade-offs, risks and opportunities.

You’ll be a trusted partner who can bring clarity to the numbers and help teams make smart, commercially sound decisions.

You’ll be a qualified accountant with strong commercial finance or business partnering experience, and someone who enjoys getting alongside the business rather than simply reporting the numbers.

You’ll bring:

CAANZ membership, CA, or registration with another recognised accounting body

Strong financial modelling and analytical skills

The ability to turn financial and business information into clear, practical recommendations

Great relationship and communication skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge thinking

Sound commercial judgement and a collaborative, curious approach

An interest in digital tools and using data to help deliver measurable value.

Experience working with digital delivery, programme finance or governance, and R&D tax credits would be useful, but isn’t essential.
