Job description

FIELD TECHNICIAN based in the Hawke's Bay/Manawatu region, part-time, 10-month fixed-term agreement.

Genetic Technologies Limited (GTL) is a 100% family owned and managed agribusiness which represents Corteva in New Zealand.We grow, distribute and sell maize seed nationally and around the world. We also offer a comprehensive range of microbial inoculants and forage sorghum.

We are looking for a Field Technician to join our Lower North Island based team. This role is pivotal in executing our research programme in the planting and harvesting of maize trial plots but also providing support to our local Sales Team.

This role is part-time (approx. 1200 hours a year but will vary depending on the season) and is for 10 months.This role can be based in the Hawkes Bay/Tararua or the Manawatu region.

In this role you will:

  • Carry our field duties such as planting and harvesting of the trial sites
  • Ensure the company’s machinery and equipment is well maintained
  • Assist, as required, with Field Days
  • Support the local Area Managers

To be successful in this role you will need:

·An understanding of the Agricultural Industry

·A passion for working outdoors

·Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust

·Adaptable and a ‘can do’ attitude

·The ability to work autonomously as well as with a team

·Excellent time-management skills

·A full clean driver’s license (class 4 is preferred)
