Job summary

PickNZ is seeking a Field Team Leader to manage a regional team of Seasonal Sample Collectors, focusing on outdoor sample collection in the Bay of Plenty region. You will recruit, train and lead the team to ensure timely, accurate testing for Zespri’s assurance programme.

The role is fast-paced, physically demanding and requires strong people leadership, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Previous staff management/supervisory experience in a similar role.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A genuine commitment to the safety and wellbeing of your team.
• A love for the outdoors and physical work.
• Comfortable with technology such as smartphones and productivity software.
• Full Class 1 driver’s licence and clean driving history.

Responsibilities

• Lead a regional team of Seasonal Sample Collectors.
• Spend around 75% of time out in the orchards, collecting samples with the team.
• Recruit, train and organise your own team.
• Ensure quality, safety and efficiency targets are met.
• Build a positive team culture and support team members.
