Job summary

Northpower is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter/Electrician to join our Rotorua Depot team. You will work on constructing and maintaining electrical equipment to customer specifications within a substation environment, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Based in Rotorua, you will travel between regional substations, perform complex fault-finding, and ensure safety and compliance in all activities. A current practising licence and NZ driver’s licence are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with high/low voltage equipment and substations.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Capable of working at heights and in heavy industrial environments.
• New Zealand driver’s licence and a current practising licence as an electrician.

Responsibilities

• Carry out prescribed electrical work to regulations.
• Perform callouts and maintenance as a lone worker across regional substations.
• Inspect, fault-find and fix HV/LV equipment.
• Accurate record-keeping and reporting of works.
• Identify issues and provide effective recovery solutions.
• Plan and scope jobs with accuracy.
