We’re modernising and growing our Auckland Metro network—and we need a skilled leader to help drive our night operations.As Field Production Manager (Traction – Night), you’ll oversee the safe and effective delivery of night-shift traction infrastructure activities. You’ll be the senior point of contact for our night crews, guiding and supporting teams across electrical, isolation, and overhead line works.You’ll plan and coordinate resources, provide field leadership, and ensure work meets safety, quality, and performance standards. From resolving on-site challenges to improving delivery methods, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our network moving after dark.
We’re looking for someone who leads with integrity, supports team development, and champions safety at every level.
You’ll need:
• Experience in rail infrastructure and traction systems (OLE and electrical)
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills
• Practical field knowledge and a hands-on approach
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• A tertiary qualification in engineering (preferred)
• Current EWRB registration (or willingness to obtain)
You’ll also bring:
• A safety-first mindset
• Excellent communication and planning abilities
• Experience mentoring and developing others
• Familiarity with the Electrical Act 1992 and relevant safety regulations
• Confidence working independently on night shifts
