Job description

Rentokil Rural & Environmental Services combines experience spanning diverse landscapes, from high-country farms to dense native bush. Whether it’s predator control, ungulate management, or invasive plant control, we deploy innovative, sustainable, and effective pest control strategies to meet the unique needs of our clients.

A key strength of our expertise lies in our end-to-end project management service, where we leverage our experience in successfully managing complex projects of all sizes, customised to fit the specific needs of each landscape.

The role:

You will be responsible for large-scale pest control projects in some of New Zealand's most remote and iconic landscapes, using trapping and toxin deployment methods to control possums and predators. In return, you’ll gain practical experience, work toward industry qualifications, and join a team that values grit, reliability, and results.

This is physically demanding, full-time outdoor work, ideal for those who back their stamina and enjoy working hard as part of a solid team.

Location:

Our team in Pleasant Point frequently travel to operational sites across the South Island, providing the opportunity to experience New Zealand off the beaten track. In this role, you will be required to stay away for the working week (Mon - Fri) plus the occasional 10-day stint, with accommodation and meals provided.

What we’re looking for:

Desirable but not essential:

  • Previous experience or qualifications in pest control or biosecurity work.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • ATV, LUV, or 4WD qualifications
  • GrowSafe or Controlled Substance Licence
  • NZ Firearms Licence
  • Chainsaw use NZQA unit standards or related training

Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, meeting Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria.
