About the Role

Due to continued growth and new business we have an opportunity for someone to become part of our Tauranga team, where you will be supporting both local and national customers. This role is challenging, interesting and integral to the service we provide to our clients. As the Field Engineer you will be supporting a variety of different IT environments, at times on-site with our clients, providing desktop and engineering support. You will be working closely with our clients so outstanding communication and customer service is an essential focus in this role. Your professionalism will be a key strength together with your technical ability.

What You’ll Do

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Onsite support across a number of clients (varying locations) – valid NZ driver’s license and your own vehicle are required.
  • Serving as the company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
  • Building and supporting end-user devices (PCs, laptops, thin clients, printers, mobiles, tablets).
  • Diagnosing faults / troubleshooting / problem solving.
  • Windows desktop, server and network support.
  • Building productive working relationships across a variety of colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • May include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.
What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role you will ideally have had experience in a similar role, with a wide range of general IT skills. You will demonstrate excellent problem solving and communication skills. You’ll need to be a self-starter, with good organisation skills and attention to detail. You should generally bring:

  • 2+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • Experience with installation, diagnoses and repair of pc systems, end user devices and software (e.g. laptops, desktops, tables, Intune, O365, current Windows Operating Systems)
  • Working familiarity with server and networking equipment
  • Ability to work on assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organisational goals.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate user needs into a technical solution.
  • Excellent customer relationship building and management skills.
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information across various levels.
