Job summary

MSD Australia & New Zealand seeks a Lead Technician - Fermentation SME based in Upper Hutt, New Zealand, to support frontline team execution in a GMP manufacturing environment and to drive improvements in quality, safety and cost. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and SME input to site projects and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong team player with communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a GMP manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated Clostridial vaccine knowledge and experience.
• Experience in quality and EHS systems, problem solving and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver technical area targets.
• Anticipate and solve complex production and operational problems.
• Identify and implement quality, safety, process and cost improvements.
• Lead remediation activities and problem solving.
• Coach Tier 1, On-Point and 8-Step Problem Solving activities.
• Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Prioritise technician activities in the assigned area.
• Lead projects with cross-functional input and support site projects.
• Provide SME input to capital projects and Process Hazard Assessments.
• Support site-wide safety and quality enablers relevant to the area.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders and identify improvement opportunities.
• Train production staff and monitor flow for timely batch release.
