Job summary

ANZCO Foods is seeking a motivated, hands-on individual to join Five Star Beef in New Zealand. The role focuses on outdoors work, problem-solving, and leading people within a high-performing team.

You will gain leadership development opportunities, learn from your manager, and contribute to succession planning. Experience in agriculture, livestock, or machinery is valued, along with a Class 1 licence (Class 4 preferred).

Qualifications

  • Enjoy practical, hands-on work.
  • Have mechanical aptitude and good problem-solving skills.
  • Take pride in maintaining high standards.
  • Communicate well and work effectively with others.
  • Have experience in agriculture, livestock, irrigation, maintenance, construction, or a similar industry.
  • Want to develop leadership skills and take on greater responsibility.
  • Hold a Class 1 licence and preferably a Class 4 licence (or are willing to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Support cattle welfare and animal handling activities.
  • Manage pen conditions and environmental systems.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Work with pumps, generators, waste management systems, and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors.
  • Support health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Learn operational and leadership skills to progress your career.

Job description

Five Star Beef, part of ANZCO Foods, operates New Zealand's only large-scale commercial cattle feedlot. We're looking for a motivated, hands-on individual who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, leading people, and being part of a high-performing team.

This is an opportunity to grow your leadership capabilities and learn from your manager for the benefit of succession planning. Whether you're currently working in farming, irrigation, livestock, machinery operation, maintenance, or agricultural services, we'll provide the training, support, and experience to help you grow.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
