Job description
The Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we’re looking for a Faults Coordinator to join our team at Aurora Energy, working in our control room. This role is key to ensuring smooth fault management and efficient restoration of power across our electricity distribution network. You’ll be responsible for coordinating fault activities, ensuring our Outage Management System (OMS) is up-to-date, and accurately capturing fault restoration data. You’ll also handle the issuing of work authorities for non-switched jobs and manage restricted entry requests, ensuring all safety checks are completed.

Reporting to the Network Operations Team Lead, you will be a crucial part of our team, supporting the monitoring and management of the network. You will work alongside our Network Operations Centre team; supporting them as required, making sure we’re ready to respond to high-demand situations and escalated network events.

This position is based in either Dunedin or Cromwell, Central Otago.

Dunedin isa relaxed, vibrant city with something for everyone. Surrounded by beautiful beaches, stunning architecture, and unique wildlife, Dunedin is a city full of character. It’s an ideal spot for families, known for its world-class educational facilities and a laid-back lifestyle.

Cromwell is the gateway to a wide range of summer and winter activities which makes it a great place to live, work and raise a family.

You will work 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday 10:30 – 19:00.

If you’re looking for a hands-on, rewarding role with plenty of variety, we’d love to hear from you.

About You

While the following are the ideal qualities we’re looking for, don’t worry if you don’t tick every box – we’re still keen to hear from you if you have other relevant skills or experiences:

  • Experience in a call centre or with electrical distribution (would be a bonus).
  • Strong self-management skills and the ability to stay organised and on top of tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build solid relationships with the team and other stakeholders.
  • A can-do attitude and a team player who’s always willing to lend a hand.
