Job summary

Ministry of Justice - New Zealand is seeking a Family Court Co-ordinator to support the Levin or Palmerston North District Court. This permanent part-time role (24 hours per week) focuses on coordinating specialist services and maintaining strong relationships with management, judiciary, service providers, legal practitioners, court users and community groups.

The role contributes to a cohesive Family Court team in the Lower North Island, promoting timely access to justice and strong partnership

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Be able to juggle competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Be self-motivated and have high levels of initiative.
• Be committed to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Have experience in or knowledge of Family Court procedures and legislation.
• Have analytical skills to enable relevant legislation to be interpreted and applied.
• Have proficient levels of computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate specialist services and manage relationships with management, the judiciary, professional service providers, legal practitioners, court users and community groups.
• Support the Lower North Island Family Court Coordinator team by providing efficient administration and case coordination.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace and uphold the values of the Ministry of Justice.
