Job summary

AWF New Zealand in Whangarei is seeking reliable Manufacturing Hands for our Frames & Trusses plant. You will measure and cut timber, set up timber in jigs for frame assembly, operate nail guns once trained, and move timber and finished frames through the production area.

We value attitude and reliability as much as experience. Training is provided on the job, with safety and PPE as a priority.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or hands-on environments is beneficial but not essential.
  • Basic experience using hand and power tools.
  • Physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual handling.
  • Reliable, good attendance, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Measuring and cutting timber to required lengths.
  • Setting up timber in jigs for frame and truss assembly.
  • Operating nail guns once trained and authorised.
  • Moving timber, frames and trusses through the production area.

We are looking for reliable Manufacturing Hands with a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn. Previous manufacturing, production, building, or tool-handling experience is advantageous, but attitude and reliability are just as important.

Roles Available

Manufacturing Hand - Frames & Trusses Plant

Shifts available:

  • Day Shift: 5:00am - 5:00pm
  • Night Shift: 5:00pm - 4:00am

Candidates must be flexible and willing to work on either shift as required.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Measuring and cutting timber to required lengths
  • Setting up timber in jigs for frame and truss assembly
  • Operating nail guns once trained and authorised
  • Moving timber, frames, and trusses throughout the production area
  • Assisting with general manufacturing and production duties
  • Keeping work areas clean through sweeping and housekeeping activities
  • Cleaning machinery and maintaining a tidy work environment
  • Working alongside experienced team members who will provide on-the-job training
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workplace processes
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements and safe manual handling practices
  • Wearing and maintaining all required PPE
What You Need
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, construction, building, or a similar hands-on environment is beneficial but not essential
  • Basic experience using hand and power tools
  • Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Physically fit and capable of repetitive manual handling
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Reliable transport and excellent attendance
  • Flexibility to work either day or night shift
