Job description

Job Advertisement: Fabricator/Welder - Lower Hutt

We are currently seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Lower Hutt. If you have a strong background in metal fabrication and welding, along with a passion for working on varied and interesting projects, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Designing & Fabricating Equipment: Create custom equipment and parts to meet special or unique needs by interpreting manufacturer specifications, using calculators, measuring devices, and technical drawings.
  2. Jig Design & Creation: Design and build holding jigs to support the fabrication of parts in various quantities.
  3. Special Equipment Installation/Removal: Install or remove special equipment such as paint machines, grinders, power tools, and hand tools as needed for specific tasks.
  4. Metal Cutting & Joining: Use tools like MIG welders, plasma cutters, arc welders, chop saws, and oxyacetylene torches to cut and join metal parts for fabricating or repairing vehicle equipment, furniture, tools, and other items.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding.
  2. Proficiency in MIG welding, arc welding, plasma cutting, oxyacetylene torch work, and using various power and hand tools.
  3. Strong understanding of technical drawings, measurements, and calculations.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing tasks efficiently.
  5. Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot fabrication challenges.
  6. Relevant qualifications or certifications in welding and fabrication are preferred but not essential.
