Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd in Tauranga seeks a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join a hands-on workshop crew. You will fabricate, fit, weld, and finish components to drawings and work instructions, using GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, and FCAW techniques with carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Ensure QA traceability and safety at all times.

Reading engineering drawings and WPS documentation is essential, along with a strong safety mindset and teamwork to meet production priorities on time.

Qualifications

• Post-trade fabrication and welding experience is required.
• Current ASME Section IX welder qualifications relevant to the work.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, pipe isometrics and WPS documentation.

Responsibilities

• Safely fabricate, fit, weld, assemble and finish components to drawings and instructions.
• Carry out welding, fabrication across carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium; structural steel, pipe spools and pressure piping.
• Perform self-inspections, dimensional checks and QA traceability as work progresses.
• Work to production priorities with safety and quality first.
• Raise hazards, defects, material shortages and equipment issues early; support a safe workshop culture.

You’ll be part of a skilled, down-to-earth team, working closely with the Workshop Leading Hand to fabricate, fit, weld, assemble and finish quality products safely and right first time. This is a hands-on role where safety, workmanship and accountability matter.
