Job summary

Woodlands Park School is seeking an Experienced Year 1 Teacher to join our warm, energetic school community from the start of 2027. This full-time fixed-term role runs from 27 January 2027 to 10 December 2027, teaching across Years 1–8 with a focus on transition, literacy and numeracy foundations.

The successful applicant will be fully registered with a current practising certificate, have Year 0/1 experience, and strong knowledge of structured literacy and the refreshed English and maths

Qualifications

• Fully registered with a current practising certificate.
• Proven success teaching new entrant and junior learners (Year 0/1).
• Strong knowledge of structured literacy and the refreshed English and maths curriculum.
• Creates a calm, joyful, play-informed classroom where every child can learn.
• Builds respectful relationships with tamariki and whānau, and is committed to success for Māori, Pacific and diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Support Year 1 students as they transition from early childhood to primary school.
• Collaborate with colleagues to implement literacy and maths foundations.
• Contribute to school initiatives and ongoing professional learning.
