Job summary

UniChem Takanini Village, part of Totem Pharmacy Group in New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our community pharmacy team. You will assist customers, support the dispensary and pharmacists, and help with stock, merchandising and daily operations.

The role suits someone with a background in community pharmacy retail who can deliver confident, helpful service and contribute to a busy store environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in community pharmacy retail is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy, health and OTC products is expected.

Are you an experienced Pharmacy Assistant who loves helping people and takes pride in providing excellent customer service?

UniChem Takanini Village is looking for a knowledgeable, friendly and dependable Pharmacy Assistant to join our community pharmacy team.

This role would suit someone with a strong background in community pharmacy retail who can quickly become a trusted member of the team and provide confident, helpful service to our customers.

About the role

You will work across the pharmacy retail area, helping customers find the right products, supporting the smooth operation of the store and working closely with our pharmacists and dispensary team.

• Welcoming customers and providing friendly, professional service
• Helping customers with pharmacy, health, wellness and general retail products
• Referring customers to the pharmacist whenever clinical advice is required
• Processing sales accurately and efficientlyReplenishing stock and maintaining attractive, well-organised displays
• Supporting promotional activity and merchandising
• Assisting with stock ordering, receiving, pricing and inventory control
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Supporting the wider pharmacy team during busy periods
• Completing general pharmacy retail and operational tasks as required

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

• Previous community pharmacy retail experience
• Good knowledge of pharmacy, health, wellness and over-the-counter products
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• A warm, positive and professional manner
• Confidence speaking with customers from a wide range of backgrounds
• Good attention to detail and reliable work habits
• The ability to work efficiently as part of a busy team
• Initiative and a willingness to help wherever needed
• A genuine interest in community health and wellbeing
• Experience with pharmacy point-of-sale and retail systems would be an advantage. Relevant pharmacy retail training or qualifications would also be welcomed.
