Job summary

Access Community Health is seeking support workers to provide home-based care, helping clients with daily living activities and personal support. No formal qualifications required, but licences and health/wellbeing qualifications are valued.

Flexible hours and training opportunities are offered to help you grow in a compassionate, culturally safe role. Join our team to support kaiāwhina in the community, with weekend shifts and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • No qualifications or prior experience required.
  • Full/restricted driver’s license.
  • Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with caregiving or disability support is advantageous.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to individual care needs.
  • Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, respectful, person-centred support in clients' homes.
  • Assist with daily living activities while respecting culture, routines and boundaries.
  • Support tāngata with their individual care needs and daily living activities.

MōhouAke | About You
    • Full/restricted driver’s license
      • Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
      • Spinal injury experience
      • Stoma Management experience
      • Experience with brain injuries is an advantage
      • Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist
      • Experience administering prescribed medication
      • Love working with people and helping them thrive
      • Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
      • Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people‑facing roles
      • Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds
      • Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs
      • Own a smartphone
      • Have the right to work in New Zealand
