Job description

We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Executive Support professional to join the Digital Performance team in a permanent, full-time role.

In this fast-paced role, you'll provide dedicated support to senior leaders, including the Chief Digital Officer (CDO), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and the wider Digital Leadership Team. You'll be the first point of contact for these leaders—managing time, priorities, and relationships with professionalism and precision.

You'll also play a key role in creating structure, maintaining momentum, and supporting day-to-day operations across a complex and fast-moving portfolio.

Your day-to-day may include:

  • managing calendars and inboxes to ensure priorities are met and nothing gets missed
  • preparing meeting packs, tracking actions, and coordinating follow-ups
  • supporting recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and general team logistics
  • bringing structure and consistency to team processes and operations
  • building trusted relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders
  • working closely with others across Digital to keep work aligned and moving.

No candidate will meet every single desired requirement. If your experience looks a little different from what we have outlined and believe you can bring value to the role, we'd love to hear from you!

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in an Executive Support, Executive Assistant, or senior administrative role
  • A good understanding of how government agencies operate
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and sound judgment
  • Confidence working independently while building strong working relationships

At Te Tāhū o te Ture - the Ministry of Justice, we're committed to working together for a fair and safe Aotearoa.

The Digital Performance team provides support to the wider Digital group by building assurance and supporting decision-making through reporting, developing and leading our Communities of Practice. Joining Te Tāhū o te Ture means you will become part of an organisation that welcomes and supports people of all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, disabilities and religions.

Join a close-knit and collaborative team where we support each other, celebrate wins, and stay connected to the purpose behind out work. In this role you'll help shape how our leaders operate–making a real impact every day. Grow your skills, build strong relationships, and stay close to the action.

We offer you a range of benefits to support your wellbeing and help make the Ministry a great place to be. These include:

  • 4.4 weeks holiday leave
  • Flexible work arrangements where possible
  • access to a variety of inclusive and proactive networks

With a wide range of jobs, you also get the chance to gain a variety of skills and experience while developing your career.

The remuneration band for this role is $59,729 to $80,794 – while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
