Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Upper Hutt is seeking a General Manager to lead the site strategy, end-to-end manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations, ensuring compliant, uninterrupted supply to global markets.

You will partner with Global Supply Chain, Quality, Tech Solutions, EHS, Commercial, and Regulatory teams to align enterprise strategy with site KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performing culture.

Responsibilities

• Define and deploy site strategy aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Sponsoring site strategic workstreams, capital plans, and transformation programs.
• Translate objectives into site KPIs and disciplined performance management.
• Develop and coach the Site Leadership Team and strengthen management layers.
• Manage daily operations, budget, forecast, safety, quality, and compliance.
• Oversee financial plans, cost control, and asset stewardship.
• Represent Upper Hutt in enterprise forums and with stakeholders.
