Job summary

New Zealand Media and Entertainment is seeking an Executive Producer to lead Jono, Ben and Megan's show every morning on The Hits. You will shape sound, strategy and audience engagement across on-air, online and on demand formats.

You'll manage content development, coordinate guests and promos, and partner with the Content Director to drive campaigns and partnerships while keeping hosts energized for fast-paced live mornings.

Qualifications

  • You'll hold a relevant qualification, 5+ years experience in radio or a similar media environment and have a good understanding of broadcasting standards.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to stay one step ahead in a fast-paced live environment.
  • Confidence working across multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills across broadcast and audio editing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Source and produce content, coordinate guests, callers and competitions, support the hosts both on and off air.
  • Ensure alignment with eyes-to-ears digital strategy and work with the Assistant Producer.
  • Collaborate with Promotions and Commercial teams to deliver campaigns and partnerships.
  • Drive development of compelling content that captivates audiences and delivers results.
  • Lead the show sound, strategy and overall success for The Hits breakfast program.

The Gig

Are you passionate about creating content that entertains, connects and gets people talking? We're looking for an Executive Producer to lead Jono, Ben and Megan's show every morning on The Hits.

This is a pivotal role where you'll help shape the sound, strategy and success of one of New Zealand's most recognised radio shows, working closely with the hosts, Content Director and wider team to bring great ideas, promotions and partnerships to life. You'll drive the development of compelling content that captivates audiences, delivers results and keeps listeners coming back every morning.

What You'll Bring To The Team

You'll be an experienced radio professional who knows what it takes to create exceptional breakfast content and bring out the best in a team.

  • You’ll source and produce content, coordinate guests, callers and competitions, support the hosts both on and off air, and ensure we are creating content to support our eyes-to-ears digital strategy, working alongside the Assistant Producer.
  • You’ll also work closely with Promotions and Commercial teams to deliver successful campaigns, partnerships and competitions while helping grow and engage the The Hits audience.
