New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) is seeking an experienced iHeartRadio Content Director to lead the content strategy for one of New Zealand’s leading digital audio platforms. You will work with the Head of Digital Audio and commercial teams to grow audience reach, listening hours and revenue opportunities.

You’ll develop and execute content across news, sport, music, radio and podcasts, optimise playlists, form partnerships and drive cross‑promotion across NZME’s network.

Qualifications

  • At least five years’ experience in a relevant industry.
  • Strong radio or audio experience and a relevant qualification.
  • A track record of developing content that grows audiences and engagement.
  • Confidence working with data and performance metrics to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across content, commercial, product and marketing teams.
  • A curious, adaptable and proactive approach.
  • A genuine passion for audio, podcasts, music and emerging listening behaviours.

Responsibilities

  • Develop content initiatives that grow total listening hours, registrations, engagement and app downloads.
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of the iHeartRadio content strategy across streams and playlists.
  • Drive iHeartRadio’s cross-promotion across NZME’s network to build awareness and listener adoption.
  • Use audience and performance data to improve reach, engagement, registrations and listening.
  • Programme and optimise streams and playlists for different target audiences.
  • Support the successful launch and promotion of iHeartRadio product releases and app updates in New Zealand.
  • Manage the programming of iHeartRadio’s in-store radio offering.
  • Lead the content strategy for the iHeartRadio NZ Podcast Network across both new shows and the existing catalogue.

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded iHeartRadio Content Director to lead the content strategy for one of New Zealand’s leading digital audio platforms.
This is a pivotal role in NZME’s ambition to be number one in audio. Working closely with the Head of Digital Audio and teams across content and commercial, you’ll help deliver outstanding digital audio experiences for audiences and advertisers. Your focus will be on growing audience reach, increasing listening and engagement, and creating new revenue opportunities.

How You’ll Make It Happen

You’ll lead the development and execution of iHeartRadio’s content strategy across news, sport, music, radio and podcasts. From programming streams and playlists to developing new content partnerships, you’ll make sure our content is fresh, relevant and designed around audience needs.
