We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organised Executive Assistant to join our inclusive and professional team at DCC to help make a difference for Ōtepoti Dunedin.

Supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role will enable them to carry out their responsibilities effectively, as well as providing support across the wider Finance team. This is a varied role where the successful applicant will thrive in an environment which will include EA responsibilities, such as calendar management and generalist support, as well as assisting with research and analysis within the wider Finance function.

Generalist duties include: Diary management, along with screening e-mails and phone calls. You'll have the skillset and capability required for managing workload priorities, while exercising discretion and maintaining high levels of confidentiality.

Financial Project support: Prepare and / or peer review financial reports, inform on priority issues, researching and preparing background information as appropriate.

You will draw on your proven experience and transferable skill set to demonstrate:

  • A qualification in Accounting and /or Finance
  • A sound knowledge of accounting.
  • Experience liaising with staff at all levels of the organisation, as well as elected representatives and external stakeholders
  • Experience in providing support to a senior leader ensuring key strategic and operational meetings are prioritised and supporting documentation is provided well in advance
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, anticipating the CFO's needs ahead of time, while ensuring work is produced accurately and to a high standard
  • Excellent verbal communication skills combined with equally impressive time management abilities.

Though not essential, it would be beneficial to have previous experience working in a Finance or Accounting support position.
