Job summary

Omexom New Zealand is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator/Driver for our Line Services Northern team in the Auckland region. You will operate an excavator, install foundations and support concrete pours, and transport materials to site.

This hands-on role emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity, with a minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and standby roster as needed. Candidates must have excavator certification and a valid truck licence, and be prepared for varied hours.

Qualifications

• A certificate of competence to operate excavator and associated equipment.
• A valid truck driver’s licence.
• 3–5 years’ experience in operating excavators around utilities and services
• A basic knowledge of safety requirement pertaining to the work.
• A positive and can‑do attitude
• Be able to work flexible hours
• Possess a high level of decision‑making skill

Responsibilities

• Operating an excavator
• Installation of Transmission line foundations in accordance with drawings
• Assistance in Installation of foundation formworks for concrete mass pour
• Driving a tip truck
• Carrying out earthworks, roading and road maintenance, trenching, foundations, general digging, site preparation and general labouring work.
• Carrying out standard housekeeping duties associated with the work site, e.g., cleaning and tidying of plant and equipment.
• Taking ownership of the truck and excavator and ensuring all equipment is compliant, checked and maintained.
• Carrying out routine physical work associated with the installation and maintenance of transmission line towers.
• Understand and comply with your obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and all associated regulations, standards, and approved codes of practice.
• Comply with any reasonable instruction given to you by the company relating to health and safety
