Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a School Cleaner for a permanent on-site role in Monmouthshire. You will maintain clean, safe and hygienic spaces across classrooms, offices, corridors and washrooms after school hours.

The role requires experience with cleaning products and equipment, adherence to health and safety rules, and the ability to work evenings (3:30pm–7:30pm), with a biweekly pay schedule and Enhanced DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Experience of working safely with cleaning products and equipment.
• Experience of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Welsh language skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, dusting, and washing surfaces.
• Cleaning and maintaining sanitary and toilet areas to a high standard of hygiene.
• Emptying litter bins and disposing of waste safely and appropriately.
• Safely operating mechanical cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaners, polishing, and scrubbing machines).
• Using cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with COSHH and maintaining stock levels of consumables.
• Reporting faults, damage, defects, or health and safety hazards to the Cleaning Services Manager.
• Following all relevant health, safety, and safeguarding procedures.
