Job summary

Rocket Lab Auckland is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician for the evening shift. You will work hands-on assembling components, using precision tools and test equipment, with strict oxygen cleanliness and ESD standards. You’ll contribute to production and launch schedules by delivering quality assemblies for Rocket Lab vehicles.

Trade-qualified or 4+ years' experience required. Riveting and high-precision work are essential, with ability to read drawings and follow manufacturing

Qualifications

Trade qualified or 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
Precision mechanical assembly experience.
Operate mechanical, electrical and automated test equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and oxygen service standards.
Knowledge of standard industry ESD practices.
Ability to inspect assemblies to high workmanship standards.
Manufacture components to high workmanship standards, including riveting.

Responsibilities

Assemble components from supply chain and test them before passing to the Integration team.
Work hands-on with tools and facilities to build, launch or test Rocket Lab launch vehicles or components.
Contribute to overall production and launch schedule by ensuring quality and timely assembly.
