Job summary

Silver Fern Farms is seeking a Group Leader for the Dargaville site to oversee the evening shift in the secondary butchery department. You will guide Team Leaders, drive daily production, safety, quality, and compliance, and lead by example to build a strong, collaborative culture.

We value hands-on leadership with training and relationship-building across the team, a solid understanding of production processes, and a relentless focus on continuous improvement and adherence to regulatory

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a hands-on production leadership role, ideally within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
• Proven background in training, coaching and mentoring team members.
• Successful experience with influencing others and proactively driving a strong culture that aligns with company values.

Responsibilities

• Providing leadership direction to the department to achieve daily production targets whilst developing a positive team culture.
• Review daily production performance, investigate and provide corrective actions with department leaders when required.
• Understand food safety and quality requirements, and how these apply to your team.
• Build an uncompromising safety culture.
• Champion continuous improvement and encourage team members to find new ideas to improve work practices.
