Job summary

Waikato Institute of Education in Hamilton, New Zealand, is seeking an ESOL Teacher to join the academic team. The role involves delivering engaging ESOL lessons, onsite or online, and contributing to program development for NZCEL qualifications.

• Deliver and assess course content to a high standard.
• Manage learner progress toward qualifications (NZCEL).
• Engage with students and academic and admin teams.
• Grade assessments and complete paperwork to a high standard.

Teachers of ESOL will become an integral part of the academic team at Waikato Institute of Education, a leading English language school situated in Hamilton city.

Key responsibilities

• Create and develop lesson plans, and prepare for lessons (lessons can be onsite or online)
• Deliver and assess excellent course content
• Manage learner progress toward completion of qualifications (especially NZCEL)
• Engage with students, academic team, and admin colleagues
• Mark assessments and provide feedback and complete paperwork to a high standard

About you

• Must have completed relevant ESOL teaching qualification or relevant tertiary study (such as CELTA, TESOL, or equivalent)
• A minimum of 1 year experience of teaching
• Expertise and experience in ESOL knowledge
• Fluency in the English Language
