Our team of planners, landscape architects, environmental scientists, stakeholder engagement consultants and engineers plan, design and deliver the infrastructure and places that make our communities great. From ecological investigations and remediation to wastewater treatment and discharge consents to environmental monitoring and wetland assessments, our environmental science work touches on all aspects of people’s lives.

About The Role

The Environmental Scientist / Contaminated Land role complements the skills and experience within the Wainuku / Geosciences team which comprises contaminated land practitioners, hydrogeologists, and solid waste experts.

Our environmental teams provide scientifically robust advice to their clients, based on industry leading knowledge and experience. This role will offer the opportunity to work across disciplines and to build your skill set both locally and internationally.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
  • Carry out scientific research and investigations as required in specialist technical areas of environmental science, with a particular emphasis on contaminated land and/or water quality.
  • Assist with field surveys, sample collection and analysis of data as appropriate.
  • Produce timely accurate technical memos and reports, including assessments and summaries of environmental data, which presents information appropriately.
  • Contribute to projects, including regular liaison with government and private industry clients.
  • Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required
  • Provide technical support to the broader environment team, diversifying your skill set, across the Community Development teams.
  • Potential to expand your knowledge by working across Stantec’s other environmental disciplines and undertake training and development to drive your career progression.
